White Systems Celebrates Its 60th Year of Business

(July, 2006, Kenilworth, NJ)… White Systems, Inc. is celebrating its 60th year in business this year! Founded in 1946, White Systems has grown from a small garment conveyor company into a global provider of innovative storage and retrieval solutions.

Originally founded by Hugo and Mort Weiss and Steve Speckhart in Springfield, NJ, White grew in size and reputation based on sound designs, reliable operation and employee commitment. Many employees were recruited by the owners as they de-embarked at Newark Penn Station, returning from stints in the US military after WWII, then Korea. To this day, Mort Weiss remains an integral part of White's design team and can be seen helping in engineering and on the factory floor.

White developed the first garment conveyor for storage and retrieval of dry cleaning. From there, it was but a short leap to storing and retrieving all mediums that benefited from space efficient storage and productive picking technologies.

In 1980, White formed White Data Systems, bringing the first use of software and the fledgling personal computer (PC) into the field of storage and retrieval. In the ensuing decade, White pioneered automated storage and retrieval of “eachs” in the office, industrial and government segments.

White Systems' products and services include: horizontal carousels, vertical carousels, vertical lift modules, light directed systems, robotics, rail system components, systems integration, project management, and customer service and support. White Systems offers a comprehensive suite of sophisticated Windows™ based software and controls. The company serves both business and government organizations throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, including the Middle East.
